On that night a gang-fight broke out, brown on black, and several teenagers were spilling into the emergency room with stab-and gunshot-wounds.

She worked to bandage the arm wounds and ordered a toxicology screen to identify whatever concoction this guy was on. An orderly drew blood as the junkie thrashed and Isobel noticed a bar code tattooed on the back of his neck.

The woman was clearly in charge, and she immediately ordered Isobel to stop administering any medical treatment and to surrender any toxicology screens and blood samples. Isobel retorted that she'll discuss this after she finished stabilizing her patient, and the woman replied, "You're not going to do shit." In that second if distraction, the junkie snapped free of his restraints and Isobel caught what looked like a blade jutting out of his lacerations! The junkie grabbed Isobel by her throat and lifted her off the ground one-handed, as orderlies and the four men in black rushed to try and free her. The junkie shook Isobel like a dog shaking a bone, and then threw her across the room! She hit the wall and her neck broke with a sickening crack. As she slid down to the floor, she saw fog rolling in as Death came to claim her.
